DESCRIPTION
„Kazimierz – An Idyll Annihilated” is the story of the little wonder of a town with a magical aura, which for centuries has inspired the creative talents of innumerable artists. It is also a narrative of history – a beautiful, glorious, stormy and tragic one – about a fascinating little town restored to life from ruins, shrouded in literary legend, with its everlasting magnetism, unique historical monuments and a bohemian artistic atmosphere. It is a story about a town of festivals and weekend escapades. A town that is a real pearl of Renaissance architecture in the Lublin subregion.
DIRECTOR
Wiesław Dąbrowski (1947) Graduated from culture studies (speciality: film studies) at the University of Łódź. Since 1990 he has owned the “Partus” Artistic Agency, and has been producing TV programs and films, documentaries, reportages, concert galas, film music, and CDs. Awarded the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis in 2013. His last film, “Paderewski: Man of Action, Success and Fame,” has won the Best Historical Documentary at the DocMiami International Film Festival in Roca Baton, Florida, among other awards. In 2005, together with director Janusz Zaorski, composer Krzesimir Dębski, and visual artist prof. Rosław Szaybo, he brought to life the AVE ARTE Foundation which aims to support and promote Polish culture. FILMOGRAPHY
