DESCRIPTION

An adaptation of the first two volumes of Roman Bratny's novel “Kolumbowie. Rocznik 20.” Bratny has also written the script for Janusz Morgenstern's series.

The film depicts the stories of young people actively opposing the Nazi aggressor. The adolescent boys initially fight the occupant in a way that is specific for their age, but later on begin everyday, systematic action in conspiracy. Morgenstern portrays the protagonists' involvement without excessive pathos. He depicts the Columbuses as ordinary young people who are in no way free of feelings other than the patriotic ones. The protagonists experience their first infatuations, bursts of passion, and personal disappointment, thanks to which the film becomes a full and authentic portrait of a generation who lived their youth during World War II.

The special screening of the TV series digitally restored by the Polish Television.
