DESCRIPTION

A widow is raising her aggressive son by herself. The boy is fifteen and suffers from ADHD. Together they struggle to make ends meet and face different problems. One day, Kyla, a mysterious neighbour from across the road, enters their life. The girl brings some hope for a better future to the family of two. Similarly to his debut, Dolan tells the story of a mother-son relationship. The director himself notes, however, that if we consider the story's tone, acting, and cinematography, we will realise just how far apart the two films are. Thankfully, Dolan hasn't lost a bit of his musical taste; the 90s' pop classics featured in “Mommy” will probably return to your playlists once again.
