DESCRIPTION
A modern story about a mature woman, who discovers what's most important for her through life perturbations. Margherita is a renowned film director. Work isn't going very well on the set of her new, complex project. The American star, who features in an episodic role, is being difficult as well. At the same time Margherita has to face everyday challenges: the problems with her adolescent daughter, her mother's illness, and the breaking up with her partner of many years, who plays the lead in her film. Nanni Moretti tells the story of Margherita's struggles in a universal, humorous, and sensitive way. In the film he refers to events from his own life.

Nanni Moretti (1953) Italian director, screenwriter, actor, and producer. In 1978 he had his debut with “I Am Self Sufficient,” while “Dear Diary” brought him international acclaim, as well as a European Film Award in 1994.
