DESCRIPTION
When in the corrupt-to-the-core Bad City a beautiful, lonely vampire meets the town's only honest man, it becomes clear that nothing will ever be the same again. But can a place run by crime, drugs, and prostitution also be a place where true love might bloom? And will the noble blood-drinker – who by night rides her skateboard, clad in traditional Iranian chador and single-handedly dealing out justice – find happiness with the handsome mortal? “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night” is an original play on film genres: from vampiric horror, through romantic love story, to Iranian western. The film enthralls with its stylish cinematography, psychedelic music, and the titular role of Sheili Vand.

Ana Lily Amirpour (1980) Born in England to an Iranian-American family. Lives in the USA, where she moved to as a child with her parents. Despite her young age she became known as a versatile artist. She has directed several short films and penned several scripts, she is also a producer and an actress. “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night” is her feature film debut.
