Members: Andrzej Zamenhof – banjo, vocals / Adam Sobolewski – drum, comb, vocals / Ignacy Woland – tuba, vocals / Wiesław Król – accordion, clarinet, vocals
Their music bears noticeable traces of years spent in folk, punk, metal, indie-rock, and even electronic music bands. Together they have decided to form a band that is musical fiction, a time machine bringing the listeners back to Poland of the interwar period. Armed with busker band instruments (such as the banjo, accordion, tuba, and comb), they play simple, energetic punk music on one hand inspired by Polish folklore and on the other – by contemporary work.
The creative work of four musicians who comprise ZBUNTOWANA ORKIESTRA PODWÓRKOWA HAŃBA! is best described with their own words: “Let's imagine that punk rock didn't emerge in the British Isles in the 70s, but in interwar Poland, as an expression of rebellion against the authoritarian rule of Sanation. That's what HAŃBA! is.”
